Then came the update that newly memed papaw is actually fine. Another grandkid showed up! Inexplicably, this story now has a another twist.
Kelsey's cousin, Brock, the other grandkid who showed up, tweeted on Friday that papaw is going to have a cookout next weekend and "everyone" is invited.
Brock told KVUE that the cookout was papaw's idea. In addition to charging for burgers, they will reportedly also be selling T-shirts for $20-$25 a pop. Proceeds, according to Brock, will go towards college tuition for Kelsey and Brock and future college tuition for the other grandkids who were too busy to show up and eat a damn burger with their papaw, as well as some to-be-determined charities. Since this is the Internet, fake papaw merch has allegedly already been circulating. If giving money to strangers from the Internet and meeting a meme is your thing, you apparently have plans next weekend. Hopefully people show up.
