A woman who apparently has money to waste on dildos on Thursday threw a rather large one at Steven Joyce, New Zealand's minister of economic development, nailing him right in the chin. The dildo then landed on the ground, and Joyce walked away without bothering to pick it up, although it seemed to be in useable condition following the incident and is most likely still capable of providing sexual pleasure by being inserted into any number of human orifices.
"As long as they're sterilized between uses, silicone dildos can be safely shared with different partners, and they can be used in different orifices without risk of bacterial contamination," Hannah Jorden, a sexual educator, wrote in popular online advice column Savage Love. However, she added that dildos can made of any number of substances, so cleaning them correctly can be a challenge. "The trick," she said, "is to buy only nonporous, nontoxic toys from trustworthy manufacturers and retailers." It's unknown at this time what the ill-used sex toy was made of.
Thus far, Joyce has yet to comment on its fate, only mentioning the incident in passing on Twitter. And possibly trying to get a little free promotion: There has likewise been no word on whether or not Josie Butler, the woman who threw the perfectly good rubber dick, has asked for its return, or if she just plans to buy a new one. She was said to be protesting something or other.
